Anoka-Ramsey FAQ

Q: WHERE IS THE CAMPUS STORE LOCATED?

The Anoka-Ramsey Campus Store is located in the Student Services Building (Door #1) on the lower level.

Q: WHAT IS THE CAMPUS STORE’S COVID-19 SETUP?

The Anoka-Ramsey Campus Store has guidelines in place to protect our staff and customers during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Masks are required on campus, as is social distancing. Plexi-glass has been installed at all register locations to help ensure everyone has a safe and easy check-out.

Q: I WANT TO ORDER MY BOOKS ONLINE, HOW DO I DO THAT?

Q: WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENTS DOES THE CAMPUS STORE ACCEPT?

The Campus Store accepts a wide variety of payment forms. We accept all standard payments such as cash, checks (with a valid student ID), and most major credit and debit cards except American Express. We also accept financial aid and 3rd Party Charging during the times specified for each semester. If you have any questions on any payment methods, please contact the Campus Store at campusstore@anokaramsey.edu.

Q: HOW DO I FIND THE REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS FOR MY CLASSES IN-STORE?

Your class schedule is required to ensure that you receive the correct course materials. The textbooks are organized in the Campus Store according to Department, Course Number, Section and your Professor's Last Name. Each specific course has a shelf tag that corresponds to which textbooks are required, recommended, optional, or if it is an Inclusive Access Course. Each textbook listed will be above its shelf tag. Campus Store staff members are always available for assistance.

Q: DOES THE CAMPUS STORE CARRY USED TEXTBOOKS?

Yes! If used textbooks are available, they will be located on the shelves along with the new texts. They can be identified by the “Used" stickers on the spine of the books. PLEASE NOTE: Not all textbooks will be available as “Used”.

Q: DOES THE CAMPUS STORE RENT TEXTBOOKS?

Yes! If rental textbooks are available, they will be located on the shelves and can be used or new additions. They will be identified by the “Rent It" stickers on the shelf tag label. PLEASE NOTE: Not all textbooks are available to rent.
*A valid Student ID is required for rentals.
*A current email address is required for rentals.
*Rental textbooks are required to be returned by the date specified at the end of the semester, or you will be charged the full price of the textbook along with other fees.

Q: WHAT DOES “NO TEXT” MEAN ON A SHELF TAG?

Your instructor does not require that you purchase any textbooks or materials in the Campus Store for their class.

Q: CAN I OPT OUT OF D2L (INCLUSIVE ACCESS), AND BUY A PHYSICAL BOOK INSTEAD?

If you decide Inclusive Access is not for you, please opt out during the first week of the class. The fee will be removed from your bill, and your access to the materials will be disabled. You will still be responsible for having any class materials your instructor requires and will have to order print copies or access codes elsewhere since alternatives will not be available through the Campus Store. You must use the link in D2L Brightspace to opt out by the last day to drop the course. The (IA) Inclusive Access is non-refundable after this date.

Q: I PLACED AN ORDER ONLINE YESTERDAY, AND THERE IS A PENDING CHARGE ON MY ACCOUNT FOR MORE THAN MY ORDER- WHY HAVE I BEEN CHARGED A DIFFERENT AMOUNT

All orders will show up as a ‘pending transaction’ on your credit card account as soon as the order is placed. When the order has been processed it will become a ‘posted transaction’ and will reflect any monetary changes to the order. Monetary changes occur when you request to allow us to substitute a new book for a used version and vice versa.

Q: WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE READY FOR PICK-UP?

Online orders are processed in the order in which they are received. You will be notified via e-mail to the address you provided when the order has reached our system and is pending. You will receive another e-mail when the order has been processed and is ready for pick-up. Books that are ready for pick-up must be picked up within 14 business days.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE CAMPUS STORE TO PROCESS MY ORDER?

We fill online orders as quickly as we can. The books to fill your order come from the same inventory as inside the Campus Store. If it's busy inside, it will take us longer to fill orders. For quality control purposes, all orders are processed through a single point-of-sale. The earlier you order, the better! If you place your order during business hours, the order is generally filled the same day during non-busy times, and the next day if the order is placed after business hours.
PLEASE NOTE:
At the beginning of each semester, please allow 2-4 business days for us to receive, pick, and process your order. You will be notified via email when your order is ready for pick up or when we ship your order.

Q: HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY ORDER IS READY FOR PICK-UP, OR HAS BEEN SHIPPED OUT?

An e-mail will be sent the moment your order has been processed and is automatically sent to the e-mail address provided when you placed your order. Please remember to check your ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ folders within your e-mail as order confirmations can end up there. Once your order has been processed, it will ship out the same day, or next day depending upon when the order was processed, and UPS pick-up times.

Q: WHEN WILL I RECEIVE AN ORDER THAT IS SHIPPED OUT TO ME?

Orders to be shipped are sent out via UPS to the mailing address specified, typically the day after the order is processed. All UPS Ground/Home Delivery shipments should arrive at their destination within 3-5 business days.

Q: WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF THE ORDER IS ON BACKORDER?

If some of the textbooks for your class(es) are not in stock, we will automatically remove them from your order. You will only be charged for the textbooks that are in stock when your order is initially processed. You will need to reorder any backordered books.

Q: WHY DID I RECEIVE A NEW TEXTBOOK WHEN I ORDERED A USED TEXTBOOK?

Not all textbooks are available in used condition. New editions of textbooks have not had the chance to be ”used". Certain study guides and course specific workbooks are put together by the college and are meant for a one-time use. If a Used copy of the text is not available, we will fill the order with a New copy provided that ‘Used Preferred’ is selected within the order. If a student selects ‘Used Only’ and used textbooks aren't available that title will be cancelled off the order.
