Campus Store Facts

What to expect when visiting the Campus Store during Rush?

Bag Drop
You will be expected to leave any bags, purses and packages with the security office at the door. Take your wallet, Student Schedule and Photo ID with you.

Long Lines
To avoid the wait, order your books online for pickup in store or have it shipped to you.
• The first week of classes is the busiest time for the Campus store, to avoid the lines, please order online, or come into the store to purchase books and materials the first or second week when books go on sale.
• The easiest way to find your books in the Campus Store is with your Student Schedule, the store is arranged alphabetically by department, course number, section and instructor. If you cannot find a shelf tag for your course, it may not require any course materials. The Campus Store has posted lists of No Text Required courses, throughout the textbook area.
• Please ask a Campus Store associate for any needed assistance in selecting the correct materials.

What methods of payment does the Campus Store accept?

• Cash, check, debit/credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) and Financial Aid
• Student ID Required for Financial Aid or Photo ID with current course schedule.
• Financial Aid includes approved FAFSA, VETS & 3rd Party Billing.

Can I use my financial aid to pay for books?

Financial Aid Charging is available to students who have been awarded financial aid and who have funds that exceed the amount of their tuition and fees. Financial Aid Textbook Deferments allow a student to charge books at the Campus Store up to the amount they were awarded. Prior to using Financial Aid at the Campus Store, it is your responsibility to confirm that there are financial aid funds available for charging your textbooks/materials.

You can purchase the following with Financial Aid:

• Textbook and course materials, including lab kits
• Seasonal Bus Passes are now available for purchase with Financial Aid funds.
• General school supplies, including calculators, notebooks, binders and pens/pencils

The following items cannot be purchased with Financial Aid:

When is book charging to my financial aid?

Financial Aid typically starts three weeks before the semester starts, and charging runs through the second week of class. Approximately one week after that, any remaining funds will be distributed to you using the method chose when filling out the FAFSA form. At that time, you will no longer be able to use Financial Aid in the Campus store. If you have any questions about the last day to use your Financial Aid, please reach out to the Campus Store Staff. If you have questions about your disbursement, please contact the business office at 763-433-1600.

How does the book rental program work?

• Not all books are available to rent.
• Renting textbooks saves you on average 50% when compared to a new, printed book.
• How will you know which books are available to rent? If purchasing in the Campus Store, look for rental pricing on the shelf tag. The Campus Store Staff will ask you at the checkout if you would like to purchase or rent the book. If purchasing from our website, the RENTAL option will display in your book list alongside New and Used (if available).
• You can pay for a rental book using any form of payment (cash, check, credit card, financial aid). If the book is not returned you will be charged the remaining cost of the book, in addition to a $25.00 fee, by the Business Office.
• The rental is for one semester only. The rental book is due back to the Campus Store by the due date which is located on your receipt. Rentals returned via mail must be postmarked by the rental due date.
• What if I drop the class? The Campus Store return policy is the same whether the book was purchased or rented.
• If you decide to keep the book at the end of the semester, you will need to pay the difference between the retail price of the book and the rental price (if paid by the last day of the semester), along with any other applicable fees that are accessed to the Campus Store from the book company for not returning. You will also be charged a $25.00 fee from the Business Office.
• The Campus Store may refuse to accept your rental book at the end of the semester if the book is not in good condition. Good condition will be judged by the Campus Store Staff, and generally means book spine intact, no excessive damage to cover or contents, all original pages are intact, all original components present, and no excessive highlighting, writing or other markings. The book cannot have any liquid damage.
